Girl tournaments

Since TN is still building a girls division why do we allow multiple girl tournaments to happen on the same weekend we as a state should be wanting the best opportunities for girls to be wrestling throughout the season not show up to a tournament where teams with girls are said to be at the tournament and then not show up and then having paid to wrestle one girl 3 times or have joined weight classes just to build a bracket. That’s just what grinds my gears.

I don't understand your message.

Why do we as a state allow multiple girl tournaments happen on the same weekend why would we not want the girls tournaments to fill up instead of having small girl tournaments where the brackets contain 2-3 wrestlers or having brackets with 10 pound weight allowances just to create a bracket. The girl teams pay money to wrestle but end up wrestling one other girl 3 times or wrestling kids at higher or lower weight classes just to get mat time. Also why is it teams with girls say they will be at tournaments and not show up or bring 4 of the 8 girls to the tournament?  Why not limit how many girl tournaments can happen and hope those tournaments bring girls from both divisions to wrestle so that way the girls are getting quality matches for what the school pays for them to wrestle?

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
