This conference is typically a 2 team race between Science Hill & Dobyns-Bennett. This season however there are 4 teams capable of winning this conference. Tenn. High has been given the slight nod. Both Science Hill & DB are right behind. The 4th team & my darkhorse pick to be in the Top 3 possibly is Daniel Boone.

I think DB is going to end up 2nd. I think Boone will give both Science Hill a run for 3rd. I do think Tenn. High will win the conference but it's not going to be by much. If TH doesn't end up winning the regular season then I could see it be between DB & Boone. I think Science Hill just might finish 4th overall.

Yep. This conference is pretty good from top to bottom. The #7 team can beat the #1 team on any given day/night. I'm really starting to look @ Daniel Boone now as being a huge player in possibly being the surprise winner of this conference. They were picked 4th.

The tournament could be crazy. The only lead pipe lock is Science Hill against Volunteer. Boone plays Cherokee, which beat the Blazers during the regular season, and Tennessee High plays Crockett, which beat the Vikings during the regular season. And even once it gets to double-elimination, D-B isn't an overwhelming favorite.

Completely agree with your post. One of 4-5 teams are capable of taking the Big 7 District tourney. Boone has Cade Elliott (UT signee) that could dominate pitching for Boone . Crockett is ending the season on fire with 6 straight wins. Tenn. High was my pick to possibly go the farthest in the postseason. I'm not sure about that now but they have the bats to do it.

Science Hill has a team of decent pitching & really good hitting. DB even though they won the regular season title isn't the favorite to win the tourney in my opinion. I think Science Hill just might end up taking the tourney crown but even Boone, TH, or Crockett could sneak into the title game & win.

It's up for grabs among at least 4 teams in my opinion. There's only 2 teams that can advance to the Regionals so it's going to be interesting to see which 2 teams make the Championship Game & therefore onto the Regionals.

You were right on your prediction.  I'll get you to handicap games for me next time I go to the casino.  Lol.

Science Hill wins the tournament over Tennessee High.  D-B, the regular season champ, was eliminated by Tennessee High on Tuesday.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
