I'm honored and humbled to vote for JaCobi Wood of Cleveland High School. I realize that people want to look at stats, but JaCobi brings so much more to the the table than just stats. For the sake of argument, let's look at JaCobi's stats and accolades.

  • 27 points per game.
  • 4.5 assists per game
  • 5.7 rebounds per game
  • Scored over 50 points twice this year.
  • 2X All District
  • 2X All Region
  • All State
  • Best of Preps first team
  • Led Cleveland High School to 1 ranking for first time in school history
  • Cleveland is currently 25-0
  • Belmont Signee

Those states and accolades are impressive. A lot of players can put up big numbers. To me, the defining question you have to ask is "Does he make everyone around him better?" JaCobi works hard to get the best out of not only himself, but also his teammates. He makes everyone around him better.

Basketball only begins to define who JaCobi Wood is in life. He has had to endure the loss of his brother this past Summer. I have buried my sister recently. I understand the gut wrenching pain that JaCobi has had to deal with. Yet through that, his faith in Jesus Christ has grown stronger. He usually post scripture every day on his social media. I read it every day. I am humbled by his love for the Lord. I wish I was more like him.

The example he sets at Cleveland High School is amazing. He carries a 3.9 gpa. He also escorted a young lady to homecoming that has overcome unique limitations. She won the title of Homecoming Queen! Totally a selfless and humble act, by a truly classy young man.

I could go on and on, but I'll leave my nomination on this post. JACOBI WOOD HANDS DOWN DESERVES THE AAA MR. BASKETBALL AWARD OF TENNESSEE!

My vote is Jacobi A Woods a.k.a JAWS. He is lazor focused and is a true blessing to anyone who meets or know him as family you meet mature young man. Being representative for the State would  be a Big signature to a second to none career. I ask the question why not? He has scored 50 or more twice this year, took his team to state as a junior, and has a 3.9 grade point avg. Put Hand down ! On my vote.
