SHS Jackets vs WH Heritage Pats

Heritage moved the ball fairly well on East Robertson last night. I don't think that is saying very much, but who knows if Coach Dickerson has really opened up his play book yet? A few problems the Patriots are having are mental mistakes. Most of the issues are on Offense. Heritage was down at the Indians 13 after they picked up a First Down on 3rd & 5. On that 1st Down the Center snapped the ball over the Quarterback's head. The Patriots lost around 15 yards on that play and that was a HUGE drive killer. Heritage never scored on that drive. Another issue with Heritage's Offense is the receivers are dropping passes. I know of at least 2 great balls that were thrown by #16 that Wide Outs dropped. Defensively, the Patriots are pretty solid. Like other teams, they need to work on contain and tackling. Heritage is not very big, but they do have some quickness. I know Springfield has a BIG O-Line. Special Teams, Heritage is so-so. I watched the kid back returning Punts let about 3 different balls kick the ground, bounce and roll to put Heritage in poor field position. If it comes down to a Field Goal like last year, I'm not sure The Patriots have a Place Kicker. This is hard for me to say, but I don't think this game will be close. I hope I'm wrong, but I believe Springfield will Win by at least 2 Scores.

Thanks for the recap.  It’s hard to believe that the Pats would have a weak kicking game.  With the soccer players  in WH one would like both high schools would be stout in that area every year

springfield got very conservative second half against wc. I think they could have scored more imo

I agree %100 about being conservative I the second half. I thought they may have been trying to get different looks for different guys since there hasn’t been any scrimmages and jamborees to test game like situations. The defense impressed me the most since we graduated all of our starting LB corp and one of our db’s. I think they should roll in week 3 tho, they look better than this time last year to me.

Nah Groves is fine where he is.

He might be, considering they both are great bb players and the bb program they have over there. My point was the football staff at Springfield is much more established and far and away better than ER and they would be able to maximize their football skills.

best question is could east post a goose egg in the win column with a massive recruit like that leading the way?

I agree with you.  The second half seemed like a practice.  I am ok with that though.  We got to see some different players and plays without showing too much to Heritage and the rest of the Region.

I guess we are still the team to beat in the Region aren’t we?

Groves did play the Safety position well. Doesn’t mind coming up and making tackles. From what I saw last night Gabe20 has similar ball skills as Groves.

Imagine them on the same team.  Put them on opposite sides and have them block for each other on the jet sweep.  Put them on the same side and one run a fly pattern and the other across the middle.  LOTS of mismatches
