We will agree to disagree! Rhea rights the ship this week. Pruitt and company opened their eyes and brought the young Eagles back to reality. They will be sharp this Friday! Hope we can keep it from being a running clock.

I think you're sandbagging us Knox. You and I both know that this team of farm boys isn't going to be able to keep up with that big city school.

Don’t know anything about Fulton at all but what I do know is Rhea defense isn’t very good. The offense has to be almost perfect and score a lot for  Rhea  to win. The defense  allows way to many points to be considered a contender this year.  Hopefully they can play more than one playoff game this year and get better next year. Defense wins championships and Rhea is not there.

Lol Ok Lou Holtz .....your blowing a lot of smoke up everybody’s rear end.

Fulton is 4-4 (throw out the 2 COVID losses), they have won the games they should have won against 4 mostly mediocre teams and have lost to 4 pretty good teams. I don’t know their injury situation but from what I have seen they are pretty athletic and I know they are well coached.

Rhea Is 9-1 coming off an embarrassing loss to a team they should have been able to beat but couldn’t. I believe part of it was not being ready to play and part being that Marion County was a little better than advertised and matched up well with the Eagles. Aside from that game Rhea won 8 games that it should have against mediocre teams and  1 game it probably shouldn’t have won. The only common opponent was Karns that both Fulton and Rhea won easily. The Eagles are young and have had problems with turnovers and penalties the entire season and I’m hearing they may be going into this game a little banged up at a couple of spots.
I think we will see a more focused Eagle team than we saw last Friday and I think we will see a  better Fulton team than last year. That being said I expect this to be be a much closer game than the last one.

LOL RC, thanks for that flashback opening line. Lou's press conferences, his teams couldn't beat anybody!

Big City??? You do realize we are playing and have been playing with 4A numbers???

Nobody forced Fulton to move up but the fact is that Fulton with 4A numbers has much more talent than most 5A schools, and Rhea County is one of them. I think Fulton will win this game due to superior talent and strength of schedule. Since I don't follow Fulton, I'm not sure about their injury situation. I'm torn on this game because I want Fulton to win, I expect them to win, but if OR wins vs Soddy, I would prefer OR to play Rhea County, because we all know what happened last year when OR went to Fulton. All that being said, Go Falcons!

This is a team sport.  Talent is a factor but the most important factor is a team playing as a team, being prepared and not making mistakes.  Strength of schedules is subjective not objective.  I would have never thought Marion County could hang with, let alone beat, Rhea County ... but it happened.   I expect the Eagles to be better prepared and fully aware that nothing is guaranteed and that the victories must be earned by playing smart as a team.

Team or individuals won’t matter in this one. Rhea moves on to Round 2 to face eventual state champion OR.

Whatever you just said, if it means that Fulton, a more talented team than RC, beats RC Friday night, then we agree!!!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
