So, we got the pep rally and Homecoming Parade done yesterday. Today it’s time to get down to business and play football.

Kickoff is in less than 7 hours. BTW, I’m sure glad that Covington has abandoned our old 7:30 kickoff time and moved to a 7:00 kickoff like everybody else. At my age, the end of the game gets too close to my bedtime with a late kickoff.

51-0 at the half.  The second half of this game will go fast.  I think you'll be home before bedtime tonight Chargerfan.  Lol

Bolivar is inept, to put it politely. I wonder how bad Craigmont and Bolton are, since Bolivar beat them the last two weeks.

I know we can't compare scores, but they've got to be weak.  I know Craigmont has had some good teams in years past, but I don't remember Bolton ever having a strong football team.  Do you?  I'm sure a lot of the younger Chargers are getting some good game experience tonight, and that's a good thing...especially during Homecoming.  What are you expecting out of 5A Dyer County next week?

Wonder what happens in 14 days Chargerfan?  I know...we've both got to be focused and take care of business on the 15th.

Final 65-6. Bolivar did score on the final play vs. our subs. We started Jalen Fayne at QB. Stuart was limping pretty bad. Not sure if that happened vs D’burg (Fayne played QB in second half of that game).

With a running clock in the 2nd half, Gover (soph) played QB the entire half.

I will have to research Dyer County. They are 5A, I hear. Bolton, being in Shelby, did not play last year, so their seniors have not played since 2019, when they were sophomores. That makes it pretty hard on them, I’m sure. If Bolivar beat them, they must really not have anything.

And, yeah I know we are coming to your house in two weeks. The only thing I’m looking forward to about that is a very short road trip. My house is 17 miles from Covington but it’s also 17 miles from Brownsville. Y’all could take it easy on a poor little 3A team, right?

Interesting!  A 59 point victory is pretty close to the 62 point victory that Cal Preps predicted. Congratulations to you and the Chargers on the big win.  It doesn't sound like the purple and gold were distracted by the activities of homecoming at all.

Take it easy on poor little 3A Covington???  You're Sandbagging with a capital S Chargerfan.  I've been hearing about how the 3A teams in the West were stronger than the 4A teams  for years, and the 3A Chargers did win last year's game. I think it should be the other way around.  Y'all take it easy on us!

You might think about leaving  a few minutes early when you come to Brownsville on the 22nd.  I've heard that since Blue Oval City is coming, Stanton is planning on putting up a traffic light.

Haven’t you heard? We already have a new 4-lane bypass around Stanton to alleviate the traffic issues! Seriously, though, if the bypass around Brownsville is any example, one at Stanton would take 10 years to complete.

No, I have not heard that.  Thanks for letting me know.  You're absolutely right about the bypass in Brownsville.  It is taking a long time.

I heard someone say the other day that the population of Stanton could swell to 40,000 or 50,000 in the next decade or two.  I don't see that happening.  Arlington is the city that is going to experience the growth in population and business from all of this.

You're going to be living in the suburbs of Arlington.

    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching stuff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching stuff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
