FV definitely could score at will against WHH but I don't think they racked up that much yardage last night.

Fairview has basically 2 levels of fans, as I am sure most schools do. Hard core, homegrown, loyal been coming to cheer on the team on Fridays no matter what, and parents who are just engaged while their kids are there. A small level of those who are in between who come and go. But like you, I do wonder where he went and miss his contributions to these threads. Thanks. I'm one of the homegrown fans but usually do have kin of some variety on the team. I also will tell it like I see it on here too which ruffles some hometown feathers lol. Swarm
Since I've not been around commenting any so far this season I'll give my take based on what I have saw from Fairview. Very slow starts have been their Achilles heel from the beginning of season and as of last night is still an issue. The offense just has not been able to get in sync until 3rd and 4th quarter of every game that was competitive. It never got in sync in the Page game against their very good defense. Even if it had they likely were going to be 1-2 scores behind Page IMO. Westview loss was same deal except we should have won that game IMO. Dug into a 20-0 hole in the first half then ran out of time. Most Fairview folks blamed ot on the refs but not me. You can't make that many mistakes and blame the outcome on 1 bad call. We deserved to lose that game. The defense has been pretty solid this year and have been able to adjust during the game well against every team we've played that has a respectable offense. I still think this team is better than last years and can win the region and maybe a couple playoff games. The offense has to stop turning over the ball so frequently though and be game ready at kickoff. I'm anxious to see the White House and Waverly games. I saw that too. It shows Mays threw for 161 yds but on the team stats says we had 329 passing yards. Something is off.

Other sports I can handle, but my kid played a position where he literally had 2 jobs, and the only stats he could rack up were negative - like a bad snap! If there is a stat line for that, especially if they factor in when it happens when you don't need it to happen - he would have won Mr. Football at that! LOL! Having said that, I read them, but never have put to memory even when not having a kid in the program. Slow starts seem to plague Fairview more years than not too. I was at Westview, 100% should have never come down to 1 play. Like you this years team is better than last, I think in part these Seniors have more experience than last years, and that only helps a team. I do fear many of them playing both sides of the ball could hurt us deep in the playoffs, mostly because if we get a season ending injury, not sure how deep we can go at some of those positions. I too look forward to the Waverly match up. I think this will be our next test, and we should win the next 3 prior to getting to them. Without question. We saw last year when 2 guys went down for the season in the Camden game what a difference that will make. We were a shell of our former team after that. Hopefully we can avoid that down the stretch this year. Those slow starts we're talking about are a root problem preventing us from developing depth throughout the season. Instead of playing young guys we're still going into 4th quarters digging out of self inflicted holes with starters still in the game. Especially if we don't come out firing on all cylinders. They hung around with Waverly a good while. I think Fairview and Waverly are nearly identical this year. Same strengths and weaknesses. I think it will be a battle.
