LA's Boys Roster is now on the site. It was an oversight on my part. Thanks for letting me know jimbo44. Personally, I want to commend Jackson Co., as well as LA--(those particular schools you mentioned)-- both schools have worked hard on their web sites and have earned ranking as ihigh's top 100 in the nation. There are also a few other high schools in the state of TN as well on the 5-star list.

I would suspect the reason a lot of the high school's don't keep their web sites up to date is because they either don't know about the sites, or they just don't have time to do it. Many schools let the students write stories and maintain their sites for grades in relevant classes. As for me, I maintain LA's site-- on my OWN time. I do it because I want to do it, because I sure don't get paid for it. Well, that's not entirely true. My payment is the satisfaction I get when I overhear the kids saying things like..."did you see that picture on the website", or "are you going to put that on the web site?".

So if I were you, I'd be hesitant to make general statements like the one in your post. True, there are many sites that are not up to date, but the ones you mentioned are at least trying to make a difference!

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
