Well, I think this year D2 stacks up decently well against public schools. Teams like Father Ryan, Harding Academy, McCallie, Brentwood Academy, and others have played successfully against many D1 schools. I'd say D2 is probably the 3rd best classification behind 3A and 2A. It is much better than 1A, though. But only time will tell how these teams stack up during the remainder of the season.
