Why in Class A Records are misleading "Unaka"

Unaka destroyed North Greene last night 86-44 at North Greene which is considered a tough place to play. You look at their record they are 4-8 but the schedule is brutal. They shot over 50% from the field and started 3 junior and 2 sophomores. I want to thank all the negative posters on Coach T for getting them fired up and the University High player who said in the paper that he thought this would be the year the kingpin Unaka would be unseated. Maybe, but you better come to play and play well. It was fun to watch our rivals leave shaking their heads. I will take 4-8 agaist top notch quality opponents than 6-0 against cupcakes anytime. Where ole where can cacadeltoro be.

A good post, teams like Unaka and Hancock Co. will be there when the tournament games are on the line. Some of the Class A schedules are soft but not Coach Ensor. He goes out and plays the best teams regardless of classification. Congraulations to Rusty Chambers for being named JC Press player of the week. These kids from Unaka played at the Carver Rec in our league and they are super kids. Cline & Collins are two outstanding guards. It's my opinion that Ensor is not only one of the top coaches in East Tennessee but the state too. As I told one player from University High the other day at the rec, you best be careful when you speak and what you speak. Counting Unaka out in December could prove to be not very smart.

Unaka, Don't feel bad Us up here at hancock are getting the same thing. We are 4-4. But we lost to Rhea County and Notra Dame. Two very tough schools. Everyone says we will not even make it in our own district. I also want to Thank all the People On coacht and anyone else who said we were dead. All you have done is want to prove you wrong. And we are so get ready to eat your Words

Temple High in Chattanooga plays one of the toughest schedules around. They are 5-2 this year. They have played only 1-A school. They beat Sale Creek by 30. I believe that Unaka and Hancock will be there when it counts because of their schedule. Temple is really looking forward to our game with Unaka in January. It will be a great game. Coach Ensor does a great job with his kids. Playing better people will make you better or make you quit. Temple has decided that we play tough people to make us better. The McCallie loss this year has produce great practices. Temple will be ready when tournament time comes around. Go Temple ;)

I don't think The Cosby Eagles record is misleading..

We've got a great offense &have been playing awesome D.

Not sure if "T-Dog" was making the 6-0 vs Cupcakes reference

to us or not.(After re-reading his post. I now understand which school that was directed at.)

We have beaten two AA schools and Unaka,Oneida

& Harriman. The only "easy" game was TSD. The Eagles are averaging just over 70 points/game and holding their opponents to around 50.

But, I would of course rather be 6-0

the last 6 games of the season instead of the 1st.

Go Eagles...!!!

to all the athletic supporters: tough schedules often lead to tough records for small teams. these schedules are also the only avenue that small teams have for great recognition through big wins...... unaka is so young,- give them a chance to gel and develop. they are already much improved from what we saw in the mountain city tournament.

i think it is obvious who this post is directed at, but i am not going to glorify him by mentioning his ridiculous broken spanish......

and now a question: what are the records of other single A schools in the region? i know about cosby, but what about north greene, UH, cloudland, washburn, powell valley, etc? and who have they played? if you don't play AA and AAA competition that competes for championships, don't respond...

i saw the score from the hampton cloudland game last night.....hampton by six. wow. who the heck do i pull for in that one? personally, i was hoping for a draw, i mean, that's like watching o.j. simpson battle it out with lorena bobbit.....who do you pull for? they are both deplorable,- not to mention the knives.......

I heard this school was in Johnson City. Never heard of them. I thought it might be an insurance company. 7 - 0 and ranked. What is the point of playing a team like this. Where do you come up with these teams. UH ranked. HA HA HA. By the way, I heard that Science Hill had some good players to quit. How long will it take this crew to wind up at University High?

Clinch beat Providence earlier in the season I think 'tdog. Look at Hablo going to call Cloudland names, lol, just trying to get someone started, if Cloudland wasn't playing so sloppy and ugly I would say something back to you. Cloudland has had a couple tough teams on there schedule, but they have lost to some to the so-called "cupcakes" too. But the way it is looking now, I will be being quite this year during the weeks of the Unaka/Cloudland games, hopefully something will change.

I think Unaka/UH is a better Lorana/OJ comparison though, seeing how well they get along and all.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
