I'll have to agree on Melrose... they are a very dangerous team at 6-7.... They have two Forwards that start at 6'7 and 6'6, plus a good outisde shooter in Duriel Temple....

 

Hillsboro is a PRIME pick for this thread at 4-6, due to the late arrival of their football players....... This team is very talented, and will be better by Tourney time.....

 

Hunters Lane is like 5-5 or so, but has knocked off McGavock, LaVergne, and Smyrna recently, and could make a run in a Wide open District.....

 

Blackman has 5 losses, and is very, very dangerous....

 

Fayette-Ware has 6 losses in AA, but is mega-talented, and has beaten Bolivar and Haywood Co this year.......

 

Haywood Co has 5 losses, and is also very dangerous: just ask previously unbeaten Harding Academy....

Kenwood & Northwest of Clarksville these teams are every dangerous they have 4 of the top players in the state!!!!!!!!! Harris , Haynes, Sampson & Townley...

 

Kenwood 4-5, Northwest is 4-4 and coming on strong! Last 3 games won by 30 points or more!

Hillcrest has a record of 4 and 8, but haven't lost to a AA school as of yet. All eight losses have come against AAA schools or higher classifications out of state. Their record could easily be 8 and 4 with a 1 pt loss to Craigmont, a 2 pt overtime loss to Fairly, a 3 pt loss at AAAAA Starkville, (Travis Outlaw), and a 3 pt loss to AAAAA Meridian Miss. in the Poplar Bluff Showdown. This team only had one full time starter that returned from last year's team and his name is Bootsy Parks. Parks is averaging nearly 18pts a game with a season high 27 pts against Memphis Fairly in a 2 pt overtime loss. This team will be better when they get to league play, this is evident by how they've played during an extremely tough pre league schedule. Don't be fooled by the record, if Hillcrest can play thru the mostly one sided officiating that is given to the traditional powers, such as BTW, Carver, etc. etc. the Vikings still have a chance to be one of the suprise teams this year.

When MBA is on from the 3-line, they can hang with a lot of people in the midstate. Although we are small, we are starting to play better, and will play better throughout the season. We took Elizabethon to the limit, loss to Kenwood by 4 without our 2 of our starters.

I think Lenoir City qualifies as a dangerous team with a poor record (6-7). They lost by 3 or fewer to Loudon, Oliver Springs, Walton (Georgia 5A team), and Davy Crockett, mostly on late turnovers. They also blew a huge lead at Alcoa. LC plays good defense but is a head-case team on offense. When they run the offense with patience and feed their post players, they do well. When the wings put their heads down and play dribble-tag, they turn the ball over and don't score. If they play with good discipline on offense they can be very dangerous.

The #1 team in the State with a bad record is B.T.W........ Booker T is like 3-7 right now on the year, but has played a very, very tough schedule..... Their losses include 5 to teams that are ranked in the Top 25 NATIONALLY (White Station twice, Oak Hill Academy, RJ Reynalds (NC), and Westbury Christian (TX))--and the latter three losses were by an average of just 6 points a game.... Also, if this team gets BF Nick Stiggers eligible, BTW could become a favorite for the AA state crown.....
