TheEgoHasLanded
I am a huge cowboys fan, I have been my whole life...I am excited they got Bill Parcells...no question he can turn it around...especially when you consider the NFC East is not that difficult. Does everyone else think that Jerry Jones might have made the correct move for once?
swamp
The only and I mean, ONLY move that Jerry Jones can make that will ultimately help the Pokes is to SELL THE TEAM. He's a maniacal, micromanaging buffoon. He and Parcells will be fighting before the season starts. ELA
I really hope this thing can work! I'm by far the oldest Cowboy fan on this website! When I was a young boy living in East Texas... I had a "Dandy Dan" Hutch style Cowboys uniform, and a Bob Lilly lunch box. As a young boy just out of high school, I went to Texas Stadium and saw Phil Simms first start against the Cowboys. I also remember watching The "TYLER ROSE" run against Dallas for the first time as a Houston Oiler and the first game that The great Georgia Bulldog Herschel Walker scored his first TD against NY on a Monday night game. Maybe it will work out, the first real test will be on the days just before the NFL draft. I expect things will go okay until after the first BIG UPSET next year. 71fan
Yes,he made the right move but, will he let Parcells do the coaching yet to be seen. I have always been a cowboy fan and can remember the days of Robert Newhouse
lgw711
No doubt Parcells is a great coach, and certainly capable of turning our "Boys" around. Thing is as we all know, 2 big egos, going head to head. It appears Jerry may have finally learned this lesson, at least for a while. How long this "while" turns out to be remains to be seen, and is the greatest concern to me about the whole deal. If Jerry will leave Bill alone to coach the team, and find some ready money under the "cap", good things can happen. Also, Bill seems to be going thru some type of mid-life coaching crisis or something, and can't seem to stick with a team or coaching for very long at a time. If things go well, he might stay focused for the 4 yr. contract. Also remains to be seen. Another concern of mine is Emmitt. What's going to happen to him? Will he accept a pay cut for the salary cap? Will he find a place on the team that will be acceptable to everybody if he does? He says he wants to continue to play somewhere. I shudder at the thought of him playing for anyone but the "Boys". Hope it all works out................Stay tuned!
TheEgoHasLanded
I think they get rid of Emmitt... I really think they need a franchise quarterback...someone who can help lead them...how about going after Brian Griese or someone like that and give Hutchison a few more games to get adjusted. I really wouldnt have a problem with Jake Plummer...I am sure there are some bigger guys out there who are free agents...those two just came to mind. Parcells fired Bruce Coslett the Offensive Coordinator...I don't really know why Jones hired Coslett...HE WAS THE OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR OF THE BENGALS! I don't like that offense they ran since they don't have the personel...especially since Ismail went down...We will just have to see. Who do you think we should draft? I'd love to have Kelley Washington...but we have galloway, ismail, and bryant...so I guess we don't need him...but they passed up on Randy Moss and look what he became. Need a good cover corner for sure.
thebeave
Parcell's is the only coach who could take that job and win. He has the brass b***'s to tell Jones to stick it. If he only does one thing, I want it to be this: Tell Jerry Jones to GET OFF THE SIDELINES AND QUIT TALKING TO MY PLAYERS!!!!
TheEgoHasLanded
My neighbor is the one and only Jimmy Sexton, Parcells agent. He told my mother today that they had known about this little agreement between Parcells and the Cowboys for well over a month. I just thought that was interesting. Finally, something productive comes out of being neighbors with a world famous sports agent lol.
goldenboy
I think the Cowboys will be in the playoffs in 2 or 3 years but next year I think they will win about 5 games again. The year after that though they could win the east. I don't expect them to win another Super Bowl again for a good while.

TheEgoHasLanded
Parcells has lured NY Giants Offensive Coordinator Sean Payton onto the staff as well he will deal with the quarterbacks... http://espn.go.com/nfl/columns/pasquarelli_len/1490138.html
ELA
I met Robert "Bobby" Newhouse a couple of times when I lived to Dallas (1979). Back then, I used to jog around North Lake and I ran into him and Too Tall Jones. They both used the track around the lake to jog in the off season. Harvey Martin also ran there sometimes.
