Waverly vs. Mont. Central

Well I heard last night from another coach in the district that there wasnt any comparison when talkin about Burney and Nichols because Nichols was that much better. He said not to take away anything from Burney but Nichols was a better shooter, penetrator, and passer than Burney. So hey I ate my words, I still think Burney is special. Nichols is probably the district MVP, what'll you think?

 

Someone needs to get that kid in Clarksville to play AAU!!

Both previous posts make good points. Waverly has several talented players, but most don't play aau for one reason or the other so aren't seen by alot of people. I've always said Nichols was better than Burney, but I do think Burney is a very good player. Good point wavcent, Vann is definitely a very talented player for Sycamore. One thing on Waverly, Nichols is definitely the man for this team, but they are getting solid play from everyone in the rotation. It seems when one player has a down game someone else steps up. They are all very unselfish and a great group of kids.

I have seen Nichols play 3 times over the past 2 years. Last year he did not do that much for me...I thought...well he can shoot. This year was a different story he absolutely took over. Great high school player for sure...I watched him drop 19 on Henry County in the 4th alone a couple games ago...simply outstanding play from that young man.

Ya Nichols has really step up his game this year. Last year he was primarily a spot up and shot player, but this yeaer he has added the slash to his game. He can take you off the dribble or just shoot one in your eye whenever he wants to.
