In a game nobody seemed to want to win, Kingston survived a marathon third quarter that saw the teams combine to shoot 45 free throws to win. Kingston could never put the game away as they missed 12 4th-quarter free throws. OS also hit 4 three-pointers in the 4th.

Score by quarter (yes, it really was 15-12 at halftime)

RCHS 5 10 12 27 54

OSHS 6 6 13 23 48

Swamp, did any individual players stand out for their teams? Anyone playing against Oliver Springs this year should be ready to shoot free throws. If they are behind in the fourth quarter, they will foul every time you touch the ball. The Super 16 games were on time every night until OS played and turned it into a foul fest. Still, they do have a lot of talent and will be a dangerous team come tourney time. Who made their schedule and what were they thinking? Wow. No wonder they have a poor record, their playing the toughest schedule of anybody in the East....

I'd say the schedule was made with the girls' team in mind. Ringley (23) and Fairchild (22) both had 18. LaRue Cook had 16 for the Yellow Jackets.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
