Sidetrain
I was wonder if any of you have any ideas for cheap way to upkeep of your infield. Batters box work, water down infield, Lineing the infield, so on and so forth.
std
For the batters box and pitcher's mound: 1. Remove all top dressing such as diamond pro etc with a broom. 2. Dig holes 10 to 12 inches deep the size of the batters box and in the area from the rubber forward past where a pitcher might stride. 3. Fill the holes with mound clay and tamp down firm. 4. Rake the top dressing back over the clay. This will prevent the mound and the batters box from digging out with use. It is a good idea to add clay periodically. Remember to sweep away the to dressing and not get it mixed with the firm clay base. Tommy Moncrief did this on our field and it has worked great. No deep grooves from the pitcher's drag.
