Dyer County?

Football seems to have taken a backseat to Baskeball in Choctaw land. Garner is a good coach, but things just werent right for him in DC, evidently. If he is looking at Lake County, he could be just like Pratt in a couple of years. Year in and year out, LC is loaded with talent, but little enthusiasm. A new, young emthusiastic coach could be just what they need. LC's jr high program went 9-1 last year, with that one loss being to Paris Inman who went to Memphis and beat their best team in the "West Tennessee Championship." Lake Co lost in triple overtime. If Garner does end up in LC, and he can get his numbers up and keep the players out of trouble, he should have a powerhouse in a couple of years.

What kind of speed does dyer county have coming back, how many starters, and how good is their feeder program? Give me an honest opinion on this from someone who knows please.

Dyer Co should have a good bit of talent back next year, but experience will be a factor. Most of the players the past few years have graduated or will this spring. I believe that their QB this past year was a sophomore or maybe a junior, but the leading receiver and rusher were seniors. Potential is there. As for the feeder programs, things seem to be looking up. The old high school building is being converted into a middle school. Hopefully this will allow the high school coach to dictate a little of his philosophy to the kids that will be playing high school ball in the future. There are maybe two more football playing feeder schools, so that unity could be tricky. Loads of talent, and could be a good job for someone willing to put a little work into it.
