hogdrive74
Two q's: What camps are ya'll going to and who all are going to be big names in the offensive line category this upcoming year? Sometimes it seems like we linemen get lost on these boards and no I am not complaining because it makes me proud to see my boys in the backfields get their names up in lights. I was fortunate to be on a great o-line last year and would like to hear more from more of my "fat boys" from across the state.

olineathlete
Hey, i agree with you about the publicity. i started for oakland the past 2 years and i got like 3 interviews, and 2 pics in the paper. I didnt care though because our running back was gettin all kind of yards, so thats how i knew we were doin our job. I think that a big name o-line man yall will hear about this comming up year is going to be chris smith at oakland. he has started the past 2 years, and will do so his senior year too. He is strong, fast, and big....all the things u need in a good lineman
ie3
Hey, be glad you got any interviews or pic in the paper. I know 2 Juniors this past season that lead the way for their running back to set all the school records (90% of the yards on their side of the line), and never were mentioned. shotgunred
I know exactly what you guys are saying. I play right tackle and have started every game. I have only got my name in the paper twice and noone ever gives the linemen any credit. I believe that is just a part of being a lineman. hogdrive74
You know, like you said before, if they are getting their names in the paper then I must me doing something right. I was fortunate to have some really good guys about mentioning the boys up front. Anybody know about any camps.
hogdrive74
Thanks for shotting me a holler. ie3 who are those two juniors you were talkin about. I know that I played some really good d-linemen and some of them were on my team. I guess if the boys in the backfield are happy you should be proud of yourself. Any camps this year boys? Sorry bout that didn't know I clicked it. [Edited by hogdrive74 on 2-2-03 8:49P]
ie3
The two guys I was talking about are up in the North end of the county. Eric Collins and Paul Winstead really opened some holes for Ohrmsbee to pound thru. I was mistaken when I said Winstead was a Junior, he is actually a Senior, but it was the first year he had ever played football. Could have really made an impact with couple of more years. You guys at Greeneville didn't leave a lot of room for others in the paper, you had a great year. I work with Cody and Thomas' parents, and I know they and all of Greeneville are proud of what you accomplished. Are you going to pursue playing further? I wish you luck, all of you deserve it. bigA52
hey whats go n on to all my linemen across the state!!! keep up the wk even if u dont get any credit, but thats just what we get for being in the box. huh? well from coaches, players, and fans. who do yall think are the most likely linemen to go on to college? and in what different grades: soph, jr, sen, and what school? hogdrive74
Yes i hope to go on but that is all up to how hard I work and God. I really like smaller schools(d-2) but would jump on any chance to go bigger. I haven't talked to Eric Collins in a while I hope he's doing alright. I haven't heard a lot about good linemen but maybe I will here after spring gets going in a while.
