The Ellers Gymnasium at Harding hosted a great game and a standing-room only crowd Friday night. ECS came in perched on top of the district with a 4-0 record while Harding came in 2-2 with losses to CBHS and Briarcrest. Harding jumped out early and held a 21-14 lead with 6:00 left in the first half. But ECS rallied to take a one point lead into the locker room. Adam Rodriguez got fouled on Harding's 1st second half shot but he made his 3 pointer. He missed the free-throw, but it gave Harding a lot of momentum. It remained a very close game with several ties until there were about 2:00 left in the 4th quarter with Harding up 4. Both teams were in pretty bad foul trouble, but ECS was down, so Cottam had to take the bench and Harding hit almost all of their free-throws while ECS missed key shots down the stretch to give the Lions the Victory. Trey Williams and John Bradford turned in great performances, and Justin Jenkins played very well for most of the 4th quarter carrying 4 fouls. Way to go Lions!
