Bearlock, please. 149-1 HS record. Ranked #1 by the National HS Coaches Association, 4x state champ, 2nd in HS national championships. If he didn't show you something, you weren't watching...or maybe just jealous. As far as DII, the same could be said for DI. Not combined, they are both weaker.

bk - Any question about Mr. Simpson must be intended as a joke. He has enjoyed the most success at the college level of any of these recent great TN wrestlers.

Simpson did and showed you and anyone else about all he could. 4 time state champ in any division is credible.

Matt Keller was a four timer two. How much did he weaken his own division 1 in that weight class simply because he was there? If Simpson's was weak, they ran from him too.

 

Both are great wrestlers.

Both went outside their states to wrestle and exceeded against the best in the country.

Right now, one of those is showing the proof. The other will too I am sure.

 

Bear, you have the hindsight of seeing Simpsons national ranking to give you a clue as to Tennessee Wrestling Greatness. Also, you, by your last post, showed your shallowness.

 

But, thats what this board is all about.

Well Scott Wells was an outstanding H.S. wrestler and an exceptional Freestyler but one must remember he is not wrestling in College and also was a transplant from PA.

 

Now lets not forget Waylon Lowe from Jeff. Co. who was a State placer once, Second once, and State Champ once. Then in College as a Freshman he took 3rd in NAIA, redshirted his next year and was National Champ in D2 this past year. Also lets not forget that he was on the cover of Wrestlin USA October 1,2002, VOL. XXXVIII, NO. 2.
