  4. I know who he is...but i'm not going to tell...i'll give you a hint...he has some very close ties to Bradley Central...so ponder on that for a while...L8er!!!
  5. I was fortunate to been able to have the priviledge and wrestle with Chris at UTC. And he and is family are really great people...it is sad and unfortunate for this to have happened to this family after a brief period of the passing of their father...hopefully the memories of their loved ones will burn brightly in their hearts forever and ever...
  6. The reason that the majority of the highschool wrestlers came out of the Chattanooga area isthe fact that the Chattanooga and surrounding area is the hotbed of wrestling in the state of Tennessee. Look at how many state champions came out of this area and how many medalists came out of this side of the state. That is the reason behind the selection was made. There was some last minute changes and additions in the line-up. Coach Lennon had to scramble around and find some guys to fill the holes.
  7. My fault, I meant to say they were flying out Thursday morning rather than Friday...
  8. Yes, both Nathan Jones and Josh Bonham will both be there. They are heading out Friday. While Catlett and Creagan will be leaving Wednesday morning.
  9. The fullback that you are talking about from Cleveland is none other than Michael Hampton. He is the starting HWT. for Cleveland's wrestling team. He only weighs 190lb. and had to eat and drink just so that he could wrestle at HWT. He can hold his own on the mat and can hold his own on the football field as well. He is really strong and very athletic. Another sophomore from Cleveland that is going to turn some heads in the future is Brandon Brown. He started at Middle Linebacker as a sophomore. He will anchor the middle of the defense again this year.
  10. What's the date for this event? also, what are the weight classes? L8er!!!
  11. Is it true what I hear that Jake Nunley will not be going to Bradley next year? Is he going to Marshall Co. with his dad? If so, hate to hear that...Jake will do great wherever he goes...L8er!!!! [Edited by DMX on 3-6-03 7:45A]
  12. Who all is going? What are the periods? 3-2-2? 2-2-2? 1-1-1? Let me know I plan on going...Also, is this the first time that the Dixie Challenge is offering this? If not how big is the turnout normally? I know I'm asking alot of questions on this but really would like to get all the details...L8er!!!!
  13. In reality, the headgear is supposed to help eliminate cauliflower ear. But in all actuality, the headgear helps in forming the cauliflower ear. With all the banging that goes on it really doesn't matter whether or not a wrestler has the headgear. I know at the collegiate level the wrestlers are now required to have both a headgear and a mouthpiece for liablility issues. But really, how many guys are actually going to do these things in a practice room? Personally, I agree with PummelKing, the headgear should really be an option at the highschool level and above....L8er!!!
  14. I tried my hardest to get Thomas to go to UTC with me and wrestle. But he didn't want to. He is working and raising a family. Paul, is also working and raising a family.
  15. I have several that came from Cleveland...Andrew Thompson placed 2nd to Wunderlich of McCallie. Randy King, Josh and Matt Coleman, Thomas Dyer, Paul Isom, Tyson Constant, these are a few guys that came from Cleveland that I feel really should be Champions as well...L8er!!!!

    Question

Someone also mentioned collegiate...so if it gets brought up then get ready to deal with it. But to answer the 1st post...no, you will not be eligible.
  17. WHOA, SLOWDOWN FARMER BROWN, obviously, the referee's chosen are the best in the state, and yes, TRACKBOY, that does mean the ones chosen from the Chattanooga area are clearly the best. Although, one referree was accidently left off the list. But please people, if you feel that you could do any better, I ASK YOU THIS: GO TRY BEING A REFERREE. ITS NOT AS EASY AS IT SEEMS...although people feel as if they have a better view of the action from AT LEAST 40 FEET AWAY!!! Hello, let the referree's handle the matches. Go take the open book exam and then go and take the closed book...L8er!!!!!

    Question

Not really guys...A lot of colleges redshirt guys so that it will give them an extra year to develop. I wrestled five years in college and that included my redshirt. It doesn't have to be a medical redshirt in order to get the extra year. Also, like major colleges if there is an all-american in your weight at the same school and he's a senior then most likely the younger guy will be redshirted. Just my few cents...L8er!!!
  19. I hate to agree with Sly on this one, but Cleveland does have the best coverage on wrestling. 1) The Cleveland Daily Banner 2) SportsVision 3) Bradley News Weekly (Sometimes) they have awesome coverage on the sport of wrestling...L8er!!!

    DISGRACE

I apologize if I misinterpreted anything. I thought that he was trying to kick Coach Logsdon. But afterall I found out that he actually kicked a chair next to Logsdon. My question is this...Did Scooter spend the night in jail?
  21. Right! But that was after he had completed Collegiate Wrestling. And he had year's of experience on these two. I really don't think that he would've been able to beat these two head-2-head back in the day...And I'm not downplaying Heath either. Cause he was a great wrestler. I should know he started ahead of me at UTC. L8er!!!

    DISGRACE

It's simple, the match was close in the remaining seconds of the 3rd period(10 sec. to be exact). 8-6 Creagan. Houston gets a double-leg takedown and Mara calls an illegal slam. Would've tied the score up. But instead the score was 9-6 Creagan wins. At the conclusion of the match, Houston shoves Creagan. Mara gives the sign for the ejection. Houston then shoves Mara. He then proceeds to go over to Logsdon and tries to kick him. Houston then kicks the clock over. He is then escorted out. He had the crowd on his side until he made himself look like a fool. He then returns moments later and begins cursing again. As far as what happened on the concourse area, Houston supposedly punched a security guard which in turns is one of the Red Bank wrestler's mother. And come to find out (I don't know if true or not)that the security guard and Houston are related somehow. Anyways, the Red Bank wrestler see's this and then goes after Houston, but was successfully restrained by several people. This to me, is really a shame. Yes, emotions in wrestling are very high but not to the point that I'm going to disgrace myself, my family, my coaches, and my school. He should've handled the situation a lot better than the way he reacted. Houston if he is truly a real "Champion" should have just walked away. That would've been the most courageous thing that he could have done. And that would have made him a true "Champion"...L8er!!!
  23. One has to remember Carlos Thompson lost to Nelson at State and was also defeated by McTorry in overtime in the state finals. He was good but not one of the best...L8er!!!
  24. Question is basically self-explanatory...Let me know...L8er!!!!
