Hubie grew up in extreme poverty on a farm in the foothills of Hampshire, Tennessee. Each morning Hubie would wake up at 4:00am to go milk the cow so his family could have fresh milk for the day. At 5:00am he would spend an hour shooting at his tire-rim hoop nailed to a walnut tree. This is where he learned to dribble the basketball so well. He once said,"if a coach wants his players to become great ball-handlers they should cover the gym floor with walnuts before each practice." After breakfast at 6:00am, he would take off on the 15 mile journey to Hampshire School riding the family mule named Katie. This was during the months when his father did not need the mule on the farm. During the fall and spring when they were using the mule to plant and harvest their crops, Hubie had to walk. His playing days at Hampshire were some of the best in school history. During his 8th grade season, he led the Hawks to the county cahmpionship where they defeated the mighty Spring Hill Raiders led by future SEC star Orlando "Papa" Wade. Hubie also excelled in his studies where he was awarded the academic award for Redneck Reading, Math for Farmers, and Hillbilly Science. During his High School Basketball Career 1984-1988 he was a four year letterman, Hubie averaged 2.0 pts per game, 5 assists, 3 steals, 3 rebounds, and 4 charges(2 given and 2 received).

Upon graduation from High School in 1988, Hubie attended Columbia State where he won the MVP award in Coach Louis Conner's Basketball Fundamentals class. In 1990, Hubie was drafted in the army to serve in the Persian Gulf War. During the war, he parachuted at night into the heart of Baghdad, Iraq with his commanding officer Capt. Tim Webb. While in Baghdad the two soldiers single handedly captured an Iraqi weapons facility housing 200 SCUD missiles. On the way out of Baghdad, the two were ambushed by Saddam Hussein's Secret Police. Sgt. Smith held off the assault so that Capt. Webb could narrowly escape with his life. Hubie spent the next 6 months in an Iraqi POW camp, where he introduced the Iraqi guards to the game of Basketball. The Iraqi guards became obsessed with the game and began playing it around the clock. None of the Iraqi guards could ever beat Hubie in one-on-one. The guards became so frustrated from losing that they decided to grant Hubie his freedom. Hubie escaped across the border into Saudi Arabia where he was picked up by the American patrol and returned to the United States. Back in the U.S., Hubie was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his bravery. He began working on the family farm and saved enough money to finish his college degree at Freed-Hardeman University. While at FHU, he led Phi Kappa Alpha to back-to-back intramural basketball championships. In the fall of 1993, he joined the staff at LCMS as an assistant to legendary Coach Howard "the Bear" Spears. The Bear taught Hubie the secrets of the much heralded 34-30 defense. As Hubie later became a Head Coach at LCMS he continued using the Bear's System to this day where the Raiders have enjoyed great success. In his free time Hubie enjoys playing with his Legends teammates including his all-time favorite player Buster. In interviewing Hubie for this story he had these comments,"I have never lost to an Iraqi in a game of basketball." Thank you Hubie for all you have done for your country and for the game of basketball.

Whatever!!! You are wrong about Creasy! We get more enjoyment out of walking the track at the ballpark when he is playing than anyother time. At least he aint a wanna-be ballplayer like some of you. I have lived in Lewis county for 45 years and some of the names you have mentioned evedently didnt impress fans to much cause I know them and didnt have a clue they ever played ball. But some of you may have lucked up and scored 4 or 6 points a game! So you go figure!

You must be some crazy old man to believe Brad Creasy is in any way a legend. All he did in school and at the courts was crave attention and act stupid. He has no game whatsoever. He thinks he can dribble good but carries the ball worse than anyone of streethoops ever could imagine. He is a disgrace and ole Doc Haley has more legend in his left eyeBALL than the Creasy family will ever have. You must be his grandaddy.

All we asked for nicely to begin with wuz a bio on Brad Creasy. If you would please scroll up and read all, you would see that all we got in return was bad mouthing Creasy. Our remarks can not hold a candle to theirs. Remember we asked very, very nicely in the beginning so obviously, we are not to blame here for this.

I heard last night's series was one for the ages. It was probably the last time 5 original Legends will ever be paired together. Hugh Smith, Josh and Jonah Keltner, Larry Rodgers, and Travis Mckissack was Team 1. Team two consisted of young stars Wally Thomas,Ryan Renolds,Coach Cox,ODB,and Lantz Dabbs. Going into the series Team 1 was the huge underdog, talk of a possible sweep was even being heard.

However Team 1 jumped out early in game one and never looked back. After an embarrasing defeat in game one Coach Cox used stradegy and went to a man to man defense. His plan worked to perfection as team 2 soundly defeated team 1 in the second game. Game 3 was for all the marbles as both teams agreed to play to 40. After a brief altercation between two players team 2 went into halftime with a 20-14 lead. Team 1 came out hot in the second and pulled out a narrow victory 40-35. After the game Legends and Rookies alike shook hands and agreed that they had all been a part of a historic series.

There was an exciting three game series played Wednesday night between the Legends and the Young Superstars. On Team 1 was L. Rodgers, H. Smith, the Keltner's, and T. McKissack. On Team 2 was R. Reynalds, Wally "Szerbiak" Thomas, Lil' Jerry, L. Dabbs, and G. Cox. Despite being heavily favored the Young Superstars fell 2 games to 1, as mentioned above.

Game 3 proved to be the most exciting and intriguing by far. Early in the game Josh was going 1 on 1 against LJ on a fast break when he did a StreetHoops move and threw the ball off LJ's head, caught it and scored the lay-up over him. ODB immediately threw the ball hard against the wall and mumbled curse words under his breath. Smith quickly gave LJ his 38th technical foul of the year, and then LJ flipped off the crowd who was hissing for what he'd just done. That prompted Jonah to call a 2nd technical on LJ, which normally would have called for his ejection but with only 10 players he was allowed to continue playing.

Things got worse several plays later as LJ viciously hacked Smith in the post nearly dislocating his shoulder. As you would expect from a seasoned veteran, T-Mac stepped in to defend his smaller teammate and confronted LJ saying, "Quit fouling so **** hard you little ******". ODB then had some choice words for T-Mac, and the two continued mouthing. Finally T-Mac had enough and said, "Bring it boy. Bring it on. I hope you know I aint scared of you! Come get you some". LJ accepted the challenge and began charging T-Mac" when Rodgers stepped in and handled the situation with much class. After a brief water-break things cooled down and nothing else happened.

Director of Player Personnel Mr. Dean Heady is currently reviewing the tapes to see what, if any action needs to be taken against the two players involved. It is believed ODB will be heavily fined and suspended as he is a repeat offender. McKissack is likely to get off with a small fine but shouldn't miss any games. Rodgers is believed to be receiving an award in his peacemaker role in the incident.

If there are any other takes on this event or any other last night please post
