hatchet
Just thinking about my day's of playing and being a tobacco "dipper". I know a lot of you guys use tobacco as do I and it is forbidden on the field. Since this is a open forum do you think you should be allowed or should not? I realize this is a very touchy subject as none of you are of age to buy tobacco but I also know if you want it you get it. If the moderators don't want this topic discussed please feel free to strike it.
ELA
I think it is a good topic, but since it is against the law, and school board policy in most, if not all districts... it seems a bit irrelevant. According to national statistics, only 26% of all people in America use tobacco products. According to the same statistics, over 66% of them are in the lower income brackets and do not have an advance degree beyond high school. Now we all know great men ad women who are highly intelligent who have bad habits, so I'm not saying that only uneducated poor people use tobacco products. I'm just giving everyone the statistics. Dale
Personally I think if you're 18 then you should be allowed to do it, but I don't make the rules now do I?
splainshornet
TSSAA at the Umpires Rule meetings said, No one is allowed to chew or have it on the playing field, they also said any coach that has any Tobacco or player shall be ejected immediately with no warning. Should have a good time umpiring this Spring.
