jctrack24
what is the best advice you would give a high school hurdler?
CherokeeChief
Step, don't jump. Oh, and don't fall!
rip7
The best advice I can give from my experience running hurdles in college is...Put your brain on the side and enjoy the ride. This is tru because you cannot hesitate when running the hurdles and yes you will fall eventually.
rip7
hey jctrack...Do you run track or coach at Jefferson County?
jctrack24
Yes hurd47 I run track at Jefferson County. Do you run anywhere?
rip7
Actually, I coach at a nearby school. We are in the same region and I have some ties to your school. I hope to see you this spring driving through hurdles and racing well. However, I must be honest and tell you that I will try and have my hurdlers running just a bit faster. Anyway, from one hurdler to another, don't get discouraged when you fall...my college coach told me that most hurdlers do not fully reach their hurdling potential until they have fallen about a hundred times. MaryvilleRebels
Yea, I got some advice, don't race me! Cause when you race me, I'm gonna get embarrassed! LOL!! No, umm...well I guess just like every other sport...practice and don't worry about how you look doing it, even if it looks weird and people make fun of you, they're not out there running them so it doesn't matter! jctrack24
hurd47, were you really good at the hurdles in college? Did you have some really good hurdlers last year?
rip7
I do not like to say whether or not I was a good hurdler in college. I ran the 400 hurdles and my best time was 51.5. To some I guess that is pretty good, but to several others that is not so great. I had two pretty good girl hurdlers last year and one boy that coming along toward the end of the year. One of the girls and the boy return this year so I hope we can pick up where we left of.
jctrack24
hurd47, did one of your girl hurdlers place pretty well in the pentathalon last year?
rip7
I can tell that you are trying to figure out who I am so I will let you that I am just who you think I am. Do you guys miss E any?
jctrack24
ah ha! I was right. I knew it all along. Yeah practice has been rough without him. There's noone to yell anymore. I was a little dissappointed to see we're not running you this year. Your hurdler brings the biggest competition I run all year except on Saturdays. I need the extra little push. I broke 50 for the first time running her last year.
