Yes, Fans was turned away at the door tonight 3/6

at Midway. At lease 100 fans was waiting to come in and this was to start the 2nd game Harriman and Cosby, One fan came out to get something from the car and wasn't allow to re-enter after he had already paid. Why does the TSSAA allow this!!!!

That was ridiculous. They even announced after the Rockwood game that anyone who didn't have a vested interest in the next game should leave, so others could watch. There are alot of people who simply like to watch these games regardless of which team they pull for. The people at Midway are always very hospitable, but this large of a tournament has no business being in a gym that small. I have never been to a game where the gates were closed. They had to be breaking every fire marshall law in the book, as well.

Are there any TSSAA rules about a gym that is too small for tournaments? Maybe the Fire Marshall should be informed...or maybe he was...thus the reason for people being turned away. There should be some cooperation with the bigger school gymnasiums to be loaned out to the schools like Midway who aren't as fortunate. I'm sure the Kingston High School Gym would have been a great alternative. Maybe the Midway folks should call the Superintendant and School Board about doing something like that next time. After all, aren't WE the ones who help pay and maintain ALL the schools in our county?!?!?!?

To my knowledge, the only size requirements are on the Substate games and the minimum capacity has to be 1,500.
