Great players?? yea..

Give me average players with no attitudes and I can win. Give me players that think they are great and have attitudes and no one can win. Would you as a coach want to coach a bunch of attitudes??? Well, I am one that would not. What do you think?

I have read your posts in the past and have a lot of respect for your philosophy about kids and the game. I believe you can tell alot about a coach's philosophy and the character of the players on his team by obsevation. If the players: play hard, play smart, play together, and play to win, then you can just about always attribute that to the coach. You just can't accomplish that with a group of greedy, selfish kids. I'm like you, let someone else have that headache!

PART OF A COACHES JOB IS TO TEACH. THAT MEANS TEACH AVERAGE ATHLETES TO OVERACHIEVE OR TEACH GREAT ATHLETES TO PLAY TEAM BALL AND CONTROL THEIR ATTITUDES. MOST PUBLIC SCHOOL COACHES HAVE TO BE FLEXIBLE BECAUSE THEY HAVE SPURTS OF GREAT TALENT. PART OF COACHING IN HIGH SCHOOL IS YOU MIGHT HAVE TO CHANGE PHILOSOPHY EACH YEAR, WHEREAS IN COLLEGE YOU RECRUIT TO YOUR STYLE. DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, BOTTOMLINE!
