Good Hitting vs. Good Pitching

Which is more important for high school girls softball?

I think any team sport starts with good defense. Defense in softball can save runs. So I guess I am saying to that good pitching is a little more important. However, you can't win if you don't score. A stat that means a little more that batting avg may be on base percentage. I've seen so many games decided by one run that it wouldn't really matter to me if a girl reaches by a hit, walk, fielders choice, error, et.

both are extremely important,you cant have one without the other.If a pitchers job is to strike everyone out,and a batters job is to always get a hit,one of thems gonna fail.I guess for me it always goes back to the same philosophy,offense sells tickets,defense wins championships!
