What are your comments on State being in Memphis this year?

 

I will be looking forward to getting to see some of the sports I've missed in the past.

i will miss state being in chat. but i also think that memphis will be a fun place for it to be located. Do you know what fields they will be playing it on?

The last I heard was:

Auto Zone Park (A)

Christian Brothers High School(A)

Briarcrest (AA)

USA Stadium in Millington (AA)

Sowell Rd. (AAA)

Gagliano (AAA)

University of Memphis (DII)

All are great fields and I believe are all recieving face lifts now on there stands and such.

I didn't think Autozone or Millington were going to be available. Also, does anybody know what part of town Sowell Rd. is in or where Gaglino Park is located? Is the old "Chick's" stadium (Tim McCarver) still playable?

Sowell and Gagliano are next to each other. They are located off 240 @ Mt. Mariah. That is in the southeast part of Memphis.

How many teams will go to Memphis in class A? How many teams from each region?

autozone is still going to be used, just not in the state championship game.

Don't forget while you are here in Memphis to set aside a day to go to the Zoo to visit the Panda's that are here from China. Tickets are suppose to be sell fast and hard to get and they are extra from the main admission price I've heard.

Im sorry i dont mean to sound negative but im not going to be excited when it comes time to travel to Memphis this spring in hopes of winning the State Champ. i understand there may be people out there excited in memphis and i have family out there that will get to see me play for the first time in high school.... but my imediate family, what a burden for them to travel 8 hrs to memphis! its not exactly cenrtraly located.. and the baseball will be played in Mississippi b/c they lied about the fields and all of them wont be ready in time! we are goin to play for the TN st. championship in MS! how much sense does that make? i think they should move it to Nashville even though I live in CHatt. its centraly located and everyones family and friends will be able to drive support them. thanks
