Catcher's Interference, What's It Count As?

Are you referring to catcher's interference or obstruction? Catcher's interference would be when a batter is swinging at a pitch, the catcher reaches for the ball and the batter makes contact with the mitt. The batter would be awarded first base, if the batter does not hit the ball. If the batter hits the ball, she would be awarded first and then could advance at her own risk. The catcher would be charged with an error and it would be no at bat for the batter.

If there was interference/obstruction, as in the catcher colliding with the batter outside the batter's box on a fair hit, I'm not sure what the "official scoring" would be. It's probably an error and at bat. The scoring rules portion of the rule book should explain it.

The leadoff batter that I am talking about has a current .430 batting average with a .490 on base percentage. She has 11 walks and 24 steals so far with only 3 strikeouts (2 were bad calls).

The second batter is hitting .400 with a .414 on base percentage, with 9 walks, 19 steals and AT LEAST 12 sacrifice hits (these 12 have come in the last 15 games, and do not count the first 20 games).

I would have to say that this team has a pretty good leadoff and 2-hole hitter. Plus both are great defensively (centerfield and catcher respectively)...

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
