No, there are two overtime periods. IF niether teams score, they go into sudden death. Look at last years final between Bearden and Clarksville on tssaa.org for proof.

yes.. smyrna lost.. that saddens me cause im a student at SHS and i knew those guys wanted it.. what were the details.. i heard drew davenport got a red card and that michael hinsin and leedle got hurt.. is that true??

yea smyrna lost, smyrna got lots of yellow cards and red cards, smyrna got in fights (including the end of the game), and smyrna's coach resigned from the team.

They were not any fights, couple disagreements after the match with some of the players but nothing to the extend of a fight. Very heated game, agressive but overal we kept our game clean. As of our coach, he did not quit or resign, the paper from Memphis made that statement but they never got to talk to him at all, he went to the bus as soon as he addressed us after the game. We will be back next year stronger than ever under his coaching and we will saw everyone what Smyrna is made of. We are a quality team that had a bad break in the state tournament, that's all. Look at the schedule we played and see that we did not get there by mistake but by hard work and good play. Regards to all from 411.

Trust me, Smyrna is a quality team. They beat some very very good teams to get where they are. Their coach, however made comments to the refs that definitely would have gotten any player kicked out of the game and any fan removed from the park. No coach, player or fan should abuse a ref like that, even if the ref missed a call. Smyrna lost 4-2 in ot and from what I saw the refs had nothing to do with any of the goals. The game might have gotten out of hand physically on both sides but the goals were all deserved. If the refs had more control of the game the final score would have still been 4-2 Houston.
