spring practice question

Can 8th graders participate in spring football practice?

 

When did they start this rule and what was the reasoning behind it?

from what i understand on this subject, 8th graders can't practice in the spring because they aren't registered to be in high school

They can practice if they are in the same school building as the high school.

 

Like my school is 7-12...so they can practice together since they will be upcoming 9th graders...

they can't practice. From what I understand, this helps cut down on recruiting. Middle School can have spring practice (in shorts). You would think if that an 8th grader is in a feeder school for that high school that it wouldn't be a problem. The problem in the Sevier County School System is that after 8th grade, a kid can go to any school in the county.
