ok, i have just now finished eating my crow, but i want to congratulate farragut on winning the state championship, you guys proved by far and away you guys are the best team in the the state, and certainly one of the top 10 teams in the state of all time. in my IS farragut overhyped? post, my main wasnt to cut down farragut but to bring notice to the other teams that were in the tournament, cuz they way people were talking, farragut was the only team in the tournament. they took their best shot from everybody, and didnt even flinch, u guys are the best, congratualtions.

Having read his original post, though, I wouldn't say Oakland2001's statement was a mistake, but instead a warning that there were other teams worth mentioning in the tournament. Everybody knows Farragut is great, but I think his intent was to point out the potential of the 7 other state-bound squads.

yeah what wesvols said was basically right, i posted that topic to give the other 7 teams in the state tourney some due as well, and i knew i had to have a good headline to generate some attention, some unfortunately i had to take a shot at farragut, well sort of, but sorry if i offended anybody from farragut, never meant to.

No doubt -- Farragut was the best high school team I saw this year, however all of the teams participating in Spring Fling 2003, whether they be 1A, 2A, 3A or Div. II, are to be congratulated for developing great baseball programs, great 2004 teams and excellent baseball seasons.

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
