Bowling a sport?

OK, in my opinion, humble as it is, I think bowling is a sport. It does take skill to roll the ball correctly in order to knock down the most pins possible. It does take concentration and skill, and SOME athletic ability. But hey, what I like about it is that it gives other kids an opportunity to participate in something, getting them up and about instead of sitting on the sideline. It gives them another chance to be proud of an accomplishment. I'm all for it. But, to answer your question, no, I don't think there is a tremendous amount of athletic ability involved, but, there is SOME. So there you have it, my opinion. B)

I have to agree. Its somewhat difficult to be able to roll the ball the appropriate way and put enough spin on the ball to break in at the right time. Ive tried and it hurts your wrist if you do it wrong. Its takes alot of practice to get it down. You also need to be mentally prepared when you bowl, cause you have to know where to roll it, what pin you want to hit first, visualize the shot, and all that. I went to watch my alumni bowl at the State tourny, which the guys won this past year, and its a loud place to be. Everyone gets into it, even I, the non-bowler. For some reason, its exciting to watch pins getting knocked down, lol.
