What a great game tonight. West's D is for real. The first half was scoreless with both teams stopping drives with penalties. Cleveland changed QB's in the second half and the O took off. I wouldn't be surprised to see these teams go at it again this November.

So the change in quarterbacks gave a spark to Cleveland's offense? Who was it and what did he do to contribute?

 

How was M-W's offense? Was Cleveland's defense just that good or was M-W not too good offensively?

Taking off as in executing better. It was a diffrent team after he came in. He got the ball to where it should have been at the right time and place. There's lots more too look at then points scored.

mike, i missed the game last night, just couldnt make, although im not gonna miss the one today in knoxville, anyway who was the qb who came in, give some insight on what this game tells u about the 2003 raiders, my guess is 10 nothing is a good win against a great d, but is not a reflection of cleveland, anytime 2 good teams play each other for the first time its usually gonna be close, not to mention it was the first game of the year. but how does cleveland look for the long haul, what do they need to overcome, etc?

Tanner Shamblin, #12, was the replacement QB. Only a sophomore, he made better executions and no stupid plays...got the snap and followed through with fakes. If that was the case in the first half, Cleveland's Offensive would have been rolling by the second half. Motown West, could not stop the toss seep at all. Cleveland was getting on average 10 yds a carry on that play in the second half. Trick play or no trick play, a td is a td. Clevelands D really showed maturity when they were deep in their own territory and forced a turnover on downs. That was the backbreaker. With a completely revamped and inexperienced d-line that really stepped it up, Cleveland showed that they have been coached well and have weoked hard this summer. They showed that they are a team to be reckoned with by beating the #3 team in the state, whether it be by ten or ten thousand. A W is a W.
