Cloudland Dawg Pound Silenced Again?

I would like to clear something up. The people that some of you are referring to as the Dawg Pound and the people that I am referring to are not one in the same. The Dawg Pound is an inside joke that is too long of a story to explain. The people that actually started this are true diehard Cloudland Fans but they do not come to the game drunk or walk around with can of Budweiser in their hand. If you have seen this then I suggest that you point them out to the nearest police officer. This is not tolerated at Orr Field. I do not deny the fact that there are some people that do in fact drink and act like idiots but then again everyone has crude, out of line fans. It seems to me that since this whole Dawg Pound thing started that everyone that is rude or drunk is automatically included to be a member of this group. I apologize now and have in fact apologized in the past on behalf of the good decent fans from Roan Mountain for any bad experiences that any visitors might have had. I don't want this thread to give everyone the impression that all people at Cloudland act this way.

Well being a member of this great pack called the "DOGPOUND" I can honestly say that we have never been drinking at the game, if anyone says other wise then come on down and stand with us. The only thing that we drink is Pepsi and Mtn. Dew, Lord knows the conseccion stand people may have spike it when we were not looking. People their is such a thing that is called Home Field advantage, you can either like it or just not attend the games. If telling an opposing player that the ball is coming at you, what are you going to do? is cussing then by all means we are guilty. Or if calling a player by his name is wrong( HINT we get that from the TSSAA program that we bought) then we are guilty. As for the Flat land comment and stands, call ahead next time and I will try to reserve you a seat on what we call a "HILL" there are great views from this "HILL" since you do not have "HILLS" in SP, this would be a great time to watch a football game from a "HILL"

Whew, was begining to worry, camarogirl; felt somewhat forgotton. :)

krp, I really don't think South Pitt will beat Cloudland this year; but if they do, then maybe, just MAYBE you'll lose your Cloudland-envy.

And for what it's worth we get to go see the Dawg Pound every other year; nicest bunch of fans I've ever met. But by the way, I know several Roan Mountaineers, and I can assure you that none of them ever drink alcoholic beverages. NEVER!!! :)

It's a little sad, however, or actually almost depressing to watch you live out your Highlander nightmare online. It really isn't healthy to obsess like that.

But thanks for the geography lesson.

I usually go to cloudland games when Hampton is off or playing a long-distance road game, and know of the dogpound. I have to say that sometime the language does get a little rough, sometimes its kind of embarasing. Usually it is just one or two, but it kind of makes the others look.....stupid? These are just kids playing a game; I believe in team spirit, and cloudland has some of the best fans around, but that end-zone can get a little small when the opposing teams D-backs are getting heckled. Too much WWF? Oh, never smelled any alcohol, but then again I wasn't over there sniffing everybody.

    • Hope the catcher on baseball team come back out and play's football . He didn't play last year if I remember but I don't remember much after that wreck anyways.. But he did play his freshman and soph years and I thought was a very good player. He's put on some size now, so I'm hoping he's thinking about playing again..
    • Pirates are young this year.  Gordy can sleep on them.
    • They’ll get it worked out eventually.Farragut is too good of a program to be down for long. As an OR fan, I can’t really say I’m too distraught about it though.
    • I didn’t even see that until you said something, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, the coaches can’t get along with each other. But I don’t think they’re openly taking shots at each other right in front of the parents. If they are, that’s pitiful though, that’s really pitiful. I sure hope they’re not, but yeah, I’ve heard the same thing from players over at Farragut getting fed up, and I feel as though what the coaching staff has been trying to keep under the prying eyes of the parents is now out on full display.
    • and there is definitely a reason for that—more than just Catholic recruiting.
