Yes, White County is for real. There is something special going on up in Sparta. White County is now 2-0 in Region 5-4A. The Warriors are 2-1 on the season. Their only loss? A 4-point setback to Cookeville.

 

White County is making it through the doors and into the possibilities at a playoff birth. Watch out. White County is definitely a dark horse in their region.

Anyone who saw the game knows what the "special" thing about Sparta is. It is #42 and the way he runs over and through would-be tacklers. I was very impressed with White Co.'s straight-ahead running style. LCHS gave it all they had but they just weren't quite big enough up front to handle 42.

#42 is Dale Lewis. White Co. would have won by more if they hadn't have lost their starting tailback against cookeville. He blew out his knee on the third play last week. I hate it for you Jarvis, good luck.

I heard the score of the game was 20-14 with White Co on top but does anyone have any details of the game?

The actual final score was 20-17.

 

Due to two turnovers in the first half as we were nearing the goal line, we did not dominate the scoreboard. LCHS led by 7-0 at the half. However, we came roaring back to a 20-10 lead at one point. The Wildcats' late 4th quarter comeback came up short, and we won the game.

Lawrence Co. is improved over last year's team as well. I hope you all have a lot of success in the remainder of the season.

White County has Warren County next. It looks like it could get out of hand for the Pioneers this weekend. The boys from McMinnville will definitely have their hands full this Friday night with White County on deck.

I thank White Co for a goodgame of football last night they are a very improved team from last season indeed.We both ahad a very good first half and in the second we just had too many mistakes and penaltys plus too many mis tackles off of big #42.Now we need to get ready for Loretto.

Good game white county the olny thing that that really killed us was their fullback cause that was who they was going to all night but if your winning with something then might as well keep it going good running #42 and as far as mis tackling we just couldnt wrap him up and stop him from running up the middle and as far as the wildcats go we had some key turnovers that gave them good momentum like the int and the fumble on the kickoff and not converting on third downs well we lost but we gotta put that behind us and worry about loretta next week and again great game white county and keep up the good work the rest of the season
