mapperman
Soliciting opinions. Over the years I've noticed that some HS bands have a tendency to play LOUD when their own team is on offence...particularly when the line of scrimmage is directly in front of them. Remembering back to another place and time, missing audibles due to band noise proved costly. Any players on here ever run into that problem? Just an opinion, but I believe a teams' band would have the courtesy to hold the music as the offence breaks the huddle and approaches the line of scrimmage. I know I'd not want the Wide-out (or anyone else) to miss the play change. Reguards to the Board, (...yeah, you too Miss Suzie) Mapp
wildcatpride
wayne county's band does it all of the time. i don't think that they understand the concept that they should play while their team is on defense. not offense! mnewballer21
at ooltewah, us refs(the cheering section) are constantly screaming at the band to stop playing before every snap, we struggle with this problem every day, but oh well in the end our players will just fumble anyway, until we get that problem solved, but we'll just blame it on the band so we have an excuse haha
KevB1990
When I was in band (1985-89), we were NOT allowed to play while the teams where running plays. I don't know who or what prompted the practice of playing during game play, but from what I was alwas told it was supposed to be a penalty. GregC
Yeah, when I was in school at Lewis County(Class of 81), the band would play during time outs but they would cut off as the teams went back toward the line of scrimmage. jock6996
our band plays while we're on offense, and once they played "another one bites the dust", while one of our own players were down with an injury!
SpartaWarrior
Well, that was extremely bad taste! Our band usually only plays after we score, have a big play, or make a stop on defense. They always stop before play resumes.
kma02
week one we lost the game and our coach is trying to tell us what we need to get better at and our band is still in the stands playing like its the superbowl. we were hurt because we lost the game and they were playin like we won the freakin state championship. our coach had to stop talking because he couldnt even here himself i think it is stupid when the band doesnt even have that much respect i mean we dont go to their competitions scream and clap and yell when they lose. they were trying to look good well they looked tacky to me. football games are for football and thats why their called FOOTBALL GAMES and not BAND GAMES!!!
