I'm curious how other players from around the state are faring at the next level. 2003 H.S. graduates from the Memphis area are playing at several Universities and are having amazing success.

Brooke Binswanger (Hutchison '03), last year's state scoring leader has played significant time, starting in one game, for the University of Richmond (a sweet sixteen NCAA tourny team last year) and has scored one goal in four outings.

Ashley Ferree (Cordova '03) leads #21 ranked Ole Miss with 4 goals and two assists and has played 275 minutes in 6 games for the 6-0 Rebels.

Emily Brown (Germantown '03) has two goals and one assist in 251 minutes in 6 games for Ole Miss.

Samantha Gould (Briarcrest '03) has one assist in 76 minutes in 6 Ole Miss games.

Heidi Ondra (Houston '03) has three goals in six games for the 4-1-1 Mississippi St. bulldogs.

Megan Rooker (Germantown '03) started in the last outing for the University of Memphis as the tigers try to improve upon a 2-3-2 start.

Katie Forbis (White Station '03) has started in goal for the past two games in leading U.A.B. (6-2) to consecutive victories.

Lindsay Talley (Houston '03) has one goal in four starts for 3-1 Appalachian St.

Madeline Bobo (Ridgeway '03) has played in 3 games for 5-3 Coastal Carolina.

Lacey Rush (Houston '03) is awaiting her first action for 4-0-1 University of San Diego, a NCAA Tourny team last year.

Allie Etter (Evangelical Christian '03) awaiting her first action for Ole Miss

What about Ann Shelton who went to Ole Miss and was highly touted. I can't find out anything about how she is doing. She is on the preseason roster and they gave her a great review saying that as a rookie she would challenge the starting keeper. Does anyone know how she is doing? Just curious.

Just got an answer to my own question from Ole Miss. A shoulder injury that she had this past Spring is keeping her off the playing fields and out of the team's stats.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
