bulldogqueen
Not from Knoxville, but from the surrounding areas. South Doyle looks good again, but not as tough as last year. Lake City has 3 boys over 6 feet tall (#23 I believe, is real good) and they look like they could be strong. The 2 Oak Ridge schools are always tough. A suprise, Harriman is not nearly as strong as last year. I have been watching them over the years, and they could be weak this year. Oliver Springs has a shot at doing well, they beat South Doyle this summer at Oak Ridge, and Seveir Co. which is big for them. Oh yeah, Karns, super tough player who can play anywhere, about 6'1", and can play with the best. They will be tough to beeat.

splainshornet
Since Knox County doesn't participate in the TMSAA does it really matter? Here is my opinion based on Fall League, AAU and last season. Bearden - Much Improved, lots of new faces for the Bruins. If the Young Guards can produce and pound it down low the Bruins can be a sleeper Cedar Bluff - Coach Melnick has a couple of kids that have moved in could be a better season for the Giants. Carter - The winningest program the last 5 years in Knox County has 5 key players back, post is shaky. Farragut - Has some Inside play, but guard play is always the down fall for the Admirals. Gresham - Coach Steed hasn't gotten the players in like he had when Helton, Smith and that bunch came through. Halls - WAY down from last year Cameron has moved on and most of the Lightning players. Holston - They actually won some games last year! The bad news, most of those players are gone Coach Wynn has his hands full. Karns - Could be one of the teams to beat, they have a 6'2" inside outside player that will lead the Beavers the roll players have to make plays for the Beavers Northwest - The Rangers are one of the youngest teams in the county they have speed and guards that can fly, you'll see Coach Gipson in the run & gun this season. Powell - Defending County champions lost Conner to the High School hard leader to replace, Powell will drop off some but Coach Courtney will have his guys ready. South-Doyle - The Cherokees have taken advantage of the freaky zones in downtown and south knoxville to get some talent, S-D will be an upper level team again this year. Vine - Vine has depth, but need to find scorers. Get them in half court game see them struggle West Valley - Preseason Favorite in Knox County. The Wolves guards can shoot and dribble well. They have some good post players and the best coach in the county former Catholic head man Comer. Whittle Springs - Whittles lost Battle from their team last year, second year Coach Haskell will have to find some players to replace him, along with scoring of Humphrey. My Opinion for 2003-2004 Season Last Years District Record in Brackets 1.) West Valley Wolves (6-7) 2.) Karns Beavers (9-4) 3.) Vine Golden Bears (9-4) 4.) South-Doyle Cherokees (9-4) 5.) Carter Hornets (9-4) 6.) Northwet Rangers (4-9) 7.) Bearden Bruins (6-7) 8.) Powell Panthers (11-2) 9.) Holston Hurricanes (3-10) 10.) Cedar Bluff Giants (2-11) 11.) Whittle Springs Warriors (7-6) 12.) Halls Demons (10-3) 13.) Farragut Admirals (4-9) 14.) Gresham Gladiators (3-10)
chill
Lake City and Norris square off tonight in the Anderson County preseason tourney. Lake City returns a lot from a strong team last year. Grant Ghouldie and Corey Roberts are strong and big inside. Cody Seiber is a great athlete. He played QB for the Baby Mavs who won the middle school football championship. John Bollinger is a dead-eye shooter. Norris has Ethan Palmer manning ther post and should be able to compete with LC's size. Zeke Rogers and Ryan Farmer are great athletes too. Clinton and Norwood also lay tonight. Norwood has a 6/4 post player and Clinton always has talent.......
