crest77
WesCharge- Are you an idiot, "?memphis is a hole?", what does east tn have to offer in football compared to memphis other than MBA. And when did this become a chat room on the gambling and education of tenn. I thought this had to do with sports, apparently SaiontDog has a point in that you arre misguided and misinformed on everything you are talking about, and p.s. are you even old enough to go to the casinos. rjduck50
i also believe that cbhs is the best team in west tennessee but milan is the best rural west tennessee team
12yr.oldchamps
i also believe that cbhs is the best team in west tennessee but milan is the best rural west tennessee team I can't argue with that. Milan has a very strong 2A team that could probably win the 3A title and would be competitive in 4A until you got to the top 5 teams but CBHS is better. GreenMan
What is that old joke: If Tennessee could give Memfis to Mississippi, then the education scores in both states would improve. Thats hilarious. Im crying.
gohawks
Milan Bulldogs are the strongest in west tn... enough said
duckman38201
It's a fact---Milan can handle anything in west TN UNTILL they get to Shelby Co. I'm from near Milan and have spent a lot of time in Memphis this year too. I've seen what teams like Christian Brothers, Melrose, Germantown and Collierville are like. Milan MIGHT give those teams a decent game but could NOT beat them. All the teams that Saintdog5510 mentioned in his earlier post can't do much with Milan and some of them have already lost to them. I'm from McKenzie and we won't play them unless it's on into the playoffs but I don't really fook foreward to that at this time. If it comes to that time I may feel different but for now I'm glad we aren't having to play them next week!!!!!!!!!!!! If we get to the point in the playoffs that we meet them then bring em' on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ridgeway03
HOW COULD YOU ALL SYA THAT MEMPHIS IS NOT PART OF WEST TENNESSEE. PLEASE GO LOOK AT A MAP. IF YOU ALL THINK MILAN IS THE BEST TEAM IN WEST TENNESSEE YOU ARE CRAZY. IF YOU WANT TO FIND THE BEST TEAM IN WEST TENNESSEE YOU HAVE TO GO TO MEMPHIS. THE RURAL PART IN WEST TENNESSEE WILL JUST FALL APART WHEN IT COMES TO PLAYOFF TIME JUST ASK MILAN AND CROCKETT COUNTY MEMPHIS MITCHELL- 20 MILAN-14 CROCETT COUNTY- 0 RIDGEWAY-
memphisplayer
I'm a non-Memphis west TN guy as most of you know, but I have to agree with rollredroll. You're talking about some quality 4A, 5A, and D-II schools there. I do think a select few west TN teams could play with some of those he listed, but I would be surprised if any of them could hang with CBHS. Maybe we'll see some games like this in the future, such as Covington-Germantown this year. I think it would be good for football in this area. You say we need to see more Games of Memphis vs West TN ha ok lets look at head to head in Last years playoffs Mitchell 31, Peabody 0 Union City 39, Booker T. Washington 0 Westview 28, George Carver 22 Milan 42, Oakhaven 6 Mitchell 22, Union City 14 Mitchell 20, Milan 14 Mitchell 12, McKenzie 0 So Far Memphis 4 Rural West Tn. 3 Lets continue! Ridgeway 28, Brighton 0 Kingsbury 28, Obion County 20 Raleigh-Egypt 26, Ripley 7 Covington 65, Frayser 18 Ridgeway 22, Kingsbury 0 Covington 28, Raleigh-Egypt 0 Ridgeway 24, Covington 20 Ridgeway 29, Crockett County 0 Memphis 10 Rural West TN 5 Melrose 33, Dyersburg 6 Fairley 26, Jackson Northside 0 Memphis East 30, Munford 23 Haywood County 20, Craigmont 14 Memphis East 14, Haywood County 6 As one can see, when we look at head to head in the larger classes, the difference becomes painfully obvious Memphis 14 Rural West Tn 6 Central-Merry 23, Collierville 18 Central-Merry 24, Memphis Overton 6 Germantown 17, Central-Merry 0 Memphis 15 Rural west TN 8 Bishop Byrne 21, Rosemark 6 Final Score Memphis 16 Rural West Tn 8 There were only 24 playoff Games where Memphis teams faced teams from rural west Tn in 2002. It seems like rural west Tn is stron during the regular season when weak Memphis teams like Manassas travel tp places like union city, Milan and so forth. Some folks get a false read as to the true strength of Memphis. but when the playoffs come reality hits! Mark my word, Memphis(region 8) will go 4-0 head to head with region 74A in the playoffs this year!
rkf
Some folks get a false read as to the true strength of Memphis. but when the playoffs come reality hits! Mark my word, Memphis(region 8) will go 4-0 head to head with region 74A in the playoffs this year! You're right about 4A, but history says different in 2A and 3A. From 99 thru 01 the rural West TN teams were 12-5 vs Memphis in 2A and 13-6 vs 3A. During that stretch the Memphis regions had exactly 0 teams in the semi finals. Ridgeway was an awesome team last year and Mitchell had a good run, but year in year out, Memphis hasn't stacked up very well against rural West TN. Melrose, East and Ridgeway will dominate 7-4A this year.

bulldawgs#1
To me and most people in west tennessee there are 4 regions in the state memphis, west, middle, and east. Milan is the best in the west. I dont know about memphis. We cant wait to play mitchell at the pound. These huge 5a teams should be better than a little 2a team like us. milandawg2004
Look you can't just go back to last years scores. They asked who the best team is this year in west tn and you can't tell unless they go head to head so we'll see come playoff time. And i went to the blue cross bowl to see ridgeway and they looked great. I saw that g. w. carver beat mitchell. They must have a good team too but anyways like i said we won't know who the best is until teams start playing in the 3rd and 4th rounds.
