Who would you say is the best team in west tennessee?

Christian Brothers. They have already beaten two teams that I'm sure many others would mention (Germantown and Melrose).

I would agree with rollredroll. And I believe he will be as interested as I am in the CBHS - MBA upcoming match-up. Should be one of the, if not, top game of the season. Good luck to both!

Wescharge, do you know your geography, man? Just as Nashville is in Middle TN and Knoxville and Chatt. are in Eastern TN, I believe Memphis is as Western TN as you can get. Do we start classifying by Urban vs. Rural?

 

And Milan may be good as a 2A school, but who have they played? I don't think they could hang with any top 4A or 5A West TN schools or CBHS.

I see where you're coming from WesCharge. When someone mentions West Tennessee, Memphis doesn't really come to mind at all.

I thought Memfis played in the Arkansas and Mississippi leagues. I wish Tunica was north of memfis, then I wouldn't have to go thru that "hole in the world" to get there.

 

Unfortunately, it is legally in West Tennessee.....we have tried and tried to give memfis to other states, but no one else wants them either.

That's true. I think media coverage has a lot to do with that. The Jackson Sun doesn't cover Memphis, and the Commercial Appeal doesn't cover outside of the metro area - thus, we view the Memphis metro area as separate from west TN.

 

Including both areas, I agree with those who have mentioned CBHS.

When I think West Tennessee, I don't think about Memphis either, even though Memphis is in West Tennessee. You could combine all West Tenn cities into one and you probably wouldn't equal the total population of Memphis.

What is that old joke: If Tennessee could give Memfis to Mississippi, then the education scores in both states would improve.
