First round of the 4A playoffs, 1999, fourth-seeded 8-4A qualifier Memphis-Melrose defeated unbeaten and 7-4A top seed Dyersburg 48-41. Led by 26 heading into the fourth quarter when The Trojans cut the lead to seven with 1:18 to play in the game. Mark Edwards kicked a field goal to close the gap. But an onside kick didn't develop and Melrose pulled the shocker.

South Pittsburg not showing up for their whooping at Sunbright in 2000. That upset me that I didn't get to see it happen. A big, big upset for me.

If I'm not mistaken you got beat by a team that South Pittsburg had beaten. S.P. was way down that year but they weren't terrible. Guess we will never know. I do know on that 2000 team was a group of freshman that are seniors this year and they are pretty doggone good.
