I want a rematch!

I'm wondering what 2003 regular season games are now going to be a rematch in round 1 this coming Friday. How has your team performed in rematches in the past and maybe how do coaches like or dislike having to beat a team twice in the same season?

I don't see too many Round 1 rematches in the greater Nashville area, those are usually saved till round 2, and round 3, where you can come up against teams within your own region.

Fans may thump their chest and yell for a rematch and coaches may say they want a rematch because that is the politically correct thing for a coach to say, but ask the players who have been pounded by the Falcon Defense.

granted i am sure coach euverard didnt exactly have visions of facing the falcons in the 1st round at the pit. but oakland has a couple of things goin for em: they have absolutely nothing to lose friday, all the pressure is on lincoln co to win, so one would think that oakland will step it up a lil bit more. secondly, undefeated teams havent exactly fared well in the playoffs, ex: riverdale 2000 and gallatin last year. but i think oakland will play very well friday night, they are out to be prove that they can play with the best, and if daryl can keep lincoln co honest with the pass, this could be anybodys game goin into the 4th quarter. but oakland has to control the clock(easier said then done) but with the way carlos has been on fire the last couple of weeks i am hoping that it will carry over into this week's. i look forward to a highly competitive game bewteen 2 1st class programs. I wish there were not so many rematches in the playoffs. I like to see new teams and what their tradition is all about. Besides, rematches are always scary, especially when the other team has a top-notch coaching staff.

Oak Ridge will be hosting Sevier County on Friday. Oak Ridge beat Sevier 49-14 in Sevierville earlier in the season and will host the Bears for the second straight year in the first round. Last year Oak Ridge beat Sevier County in the regular season 42-7 but had to hold on for dear life 25-19 in round one.

The two teams are very much alike and they know each other very well. I also believe no one has seen HHS play its best game yet. If you want to see another good football game at DC come this Friday. I understand the last one there was great!

Harding plays Briarcrest after lsoing to them last Friday at home 21-13. This week the game is at Briarcrest.

 

That also means ECS plays St. Benedict for the second staright week. last week ECS rolled on SBA at ECS, this week the game is again at ECS!
