There are three girls in the class of 2004 (nationwide) who can dunk or who have been reported to have dunked. :o

One of them is 6'3 Candace Parker (mentioned above) who dunked twice (both times in games) as a 15 year-old Sophomore at Naperville Central High School in Illinois. She is the number 1 player in the country (even as a junior last year she won the Naismith award and was the first to ever win as a junior...she also won Parade Girls Basketball Player of the year and USA Today' POTY as well). She dunked again in front of a crowd of 100 or so people at the Deep South Classic at Duke while playing 1-on-1 against Duke All-American Iciss Tillis. She dunked on Tillis...as in, she dunked "over" her. She signed with Tennessee.

The other is a 6'5 girl named Sylvia Fowles (headed to LSU) from Miami who dunked her 9th or 10th grade year and who is proclaimed as the best center in the class of 2004. She's supposed to change the face of the women's game along with Parker.

The third is Alexis Hornbuckle who is rated as the best guard in this class. She is only 5'11 but is supposed to be extremely athletically gifted and has dunked in practice and have only attempted twice in a game. She signed with Tennessee as well.

All of these girls are superior athletes, though which is unusual. The reason that we are seeing more girls dunk and will see more in the future is because girls' bodies are changing. When I played, you didn't see a 6'3 girl handling the rock, crossing people over and doing unimaginable moves to get to the basket. And I played only about 4 or 5 years ago.
