Region 2 v. Region 1 - 5A

A post to all of you Region 1 supporters who thought that any of your top 3 (DB, Jeff. Co. & Sc. Hill) could win Region 2. Guess not, huh? Oak Ridge thumped DB and Jeff., and while McMinn did lose to DB they obliterated a Science Hill team that would probably have finished 6th in Reg. 2 (behind OR, McM. Co, SD, WB, & Farragut). I guess the softness of Reg. 1 (I'm speaking as a whole, DB and Jeff were obviously quality teams) explains why an average SH team can go 8-2.

 

Great job Oak Ridge. Good luck against Riverdale.

Havind watched both of these regions for a few years, I must say that Region 2 is better from top to bottom. DB and Jeff. Co. are quality teams, but the teams in region 2 must bring their "A" games every week. There are no Campbell countys or Karnses in region 2.

Next year, I feel like DB will be the best team from Region 1 or 2. With or without Lamon. Seeing how this was a young rebuildind team that was not supposed to be way down. Oak Ridge will graduate a ton of Seniors. Someone else from Region 2 may be on top of that region. Have you heard about DB's freshman team? Prob the best we have ever had. Next year is a year that DB fans will be looking foward to.
