I know they are very young, but they got a huge win at the Holiday Duals over a very experienced Hatrselle, Alabama team. They also have quality wins over Kenwood, Rossview, Franklin and Overton. Should they break the top 10??

MBA's amazing. they're a top of the line team, and they definitely deserve more respect. If you think you can just look past them they'll run you into the ground. So watch out.

According to the 12/29/03 AP Wrestling Poll: #6 - Franklin (MBA beat them at the Kenwood Duals); #7 - Collierville (MBA finished 3 places ahead of them at the Kenwood Duals); #8 - Kenwood (MBA ruined them in the pool match at the Kenwood Duals); #9 - Clarksville (DESPITE the fact that MBA beat them in a dual match a couple of weeks ago and DESPITE the fact that MBA finished 4 places ahead of them at both the McCallie Tournament and the Kenwood Duals. Makes absolutely NO sense!); and #10 - CBHS (Truly an unknown factor as CBHS does not and will not wrestle their varsity against the TN teams that they will have to compete against at the state tournament. CBHS withdrew from both the McCallie Tournament and the Father Ryan Tournament. Who knows what logic is being applied here?!)

 

So, by the time the next AP Wrestling Poll comes out, MBA should be ranked AT LEAST 6th or 7th in the state! Otherwise, the poll is corrupted beyond all repair.

They were impressive enough to finish third at the Ryan Inv. this weekend even without their 130 pounder this weekend. Will the kid come back this year or not? I did get to see the Sat. rounds and was impressed with some of the wrestlers. The big question is can any of these guys win the state?

John Micheal Simpson definitely has a shot

William Simpson will win state at 119

Matt Francis will place high

James Dade (if he returns for state) could give Cody Cleveland his money's worth

Taylor Tate lost to Nick Meyers of Ryan by one point so he definitely could go far.

David Donlon placed 3rd at McCallie & Ryan at 160

Matt Bubis (yea the amazing football player) lost to Lomas by 2 and could definitely surprise some people with his strength and quickness.

Matt Barnes is one of the only guys in DII who is as big as Nick Forte so he could definitely go far in state.

MBA, in what was said to be a down year, is having a good year. Who knew studying Latin would make such tough grapplers!?!?!?!

yoyo - I don't think you will find many folks that share your opinion of Dade having a good shot at Cleveland. Is Dade on the IR? What happened to him?

He and I talked one on one about his injury. He is done for the year. He seems to be keeping it in perspective. He is a great kid and a big loss to the MBA lineup.
