McCallie whips Baylor 37-26 at McCallie tonight. Results, as best as I can recall are as follows:

103 Doster (B) by forfeit

112 C. Manson (B) pins Wheeler (M)

119 Young (M) dec Geismer (B)

125 Young (M) p. Carson (B)

130 Cleveland (M) p. Murray (B)

135 T. Manson (B) m. dec Goss (M)

140 Leen (B) dec Blair (M)

145 Scott (M) m. dec Doster (B)

152 Smith (M) dec Moore (B)

160 Manley(M) P. Spitalny (B)

171 Huffaker (M) dec Vaughn (B)

189 Walker (B) m.dec Rudolph (M)

215 Moore (M) p. Holt (B)

275 Hufstutler (B) dec Green (M)

For some reason these numbers do not add up right so I am obviously overlooking something.

McCallie did a fantastic job on their feet waiting for the Baylor wrestler to be the aggressor and then countering.

McCallie very well tonight. And I would have to say McCallie's freshmen won the match for them. Zach Goss not getting pinned by Tim Manson was BIG, Will Young beating Jake Geismere was BIG, and Joe Young getting a pin against Jay Carson was also BIG! Not to downplay any other McCallie wrestlers because they all wrestled very well, but without these freshmen McCallie would not have won. Baylor wrestled well tonight as well so congrats to them for a good match!

I know that many of you guys were in attendence Friday night, but for those who weren't, you missed a great night of high school wrestling. It was the largest crowd I've ever seen at a high school dual with every seat filled on each side and folks standing 2 deep at all the railings. I'm not good with estimating crowds, but I would say 3,000+ easy. Great wrestling on both sides, with some upsets going both ways and the coaches adding to the suspense manipulating a few weights. Huge upset at 119 with the freshman Young beating the defending state finalist Geismer. The Leen/Blair match pitted 2 of our state's best. The crowd was standing and cheering throughout all the matches especially with the meet locked up tight and being decided by the last matches. For all of those out there who want to grow our sport, figure out how to create more events like this. I hope that each wrestler who participated, whether you won or lost, truely appreciates the opportunity you were afforded to be a part of something that exciting. Those are the type of memories that you will carry with you when you get as old as Deaddux, Mtnrasslin, and Walkenvol. Thank you for you effort and I can't wait until Clarksville. What did you think RMC, did you make it?
