they have wrestled each other twice(jenkins and johnson) this year. the series is tied at 1-1 the series has a cummalative score of 17-16, jenkins is on top. it looks like it will be a very close hard fought match that will come down to the last seconds. expect both of these wrestlers to come home with state tournament medals.

I believe MLK and Antioch wrestle next week. Johnson and Jenkins should have one more match before regions.

As far as the state medals go, both guys have the talent to bring home a medal. If Johnson wins the region he will probably get the two seed at state putting him on the other side of the bracket from Gibson giving him a good shot at second. If Jenkins wins and they set the brackets like they did last year Jenkins will be the first #1 seed to see Gibson (see Tim Pack @ 160 last year) making a second place medal pretty much impossible. Both guys are good; but there are a lot of good wrestlers in the weight class, and 2 through 6 are pretty wide open but I think that Gibson is by far the class of the field.

Johnson doesn't need a #1 seed. He always seems to do better as the underdog and not the top dog.
