Did I miss something? Are there any Melrose players on the All-Star team?

I counted four Memphis Melrose players who signed to SEC schools today.

 

If Tennessee wants to beat Kentucky, why isn't there some Melrose players on this All-Star team?

I do not know the answer for sure, but if their coach is not a member of TACA, they are not eligible for inclusion on this team. It is put on by the Coaches' Association, so they get to make the rules. Coaches who do not join this association are hurting their own kids.

 

In the past, some outstanding Memphis-area basketball players have not played in the TN-GA all-star basketball game for this same reason.

Most schools pay a "school fee" to join TACA. I have been a member for 10 years and I have never paid a fee to join because the schools I've worked for always paid for all of their coaches to join.

Melrose coach and CBHS coach are involved in the East West All Star game and did not summitt any names for the Kentucky Tennessee game. Can't be picked if you're not nominated.

I was looking at the roster and didn't see some names I fully expected. Then, following ELA's lead, I checked the full school list on the website. Hmm..... almost none of the 1A schools I expected to see, that might be why I didn't recognize any 1A players from my area on the team....
