You're right. We are experimenting with a different formula to see if it looks as valid, or more valid, that the one previously used. We haven't changed the wording at the top of the rankings yet until the decision is made as to which we like best.

The difference between a team's "points for" and "points against" is divided by the maximum difference found across the state. This percentage counts for 25% of the ranking.

 

Opponents' records still count 50%. The other 25% is a team's own winning percentage.

teams that "run" the score up against inferior opponents can really skew results in this format and it really wouldn't take but a few games against these weak teams to do it. i like the original format, but thanks for all you do!!! jack
