Mr. BayouBear, here are the best wrestlers at each weight (in my opinion, of course).

103-Doster/Johnson

112-Dunning

119-Cordell

125-James

130-Cleveland

135-Leen

140-Blair

145-Manley

152-Scott

160-Gibson

171-Blackmon

189-Marable

215-Saint

275-Huffstetler

Just from how I see it, 10 of the 14 are from D2. That might be why D2 is harder to WIN, but as far as placing, D1 is much harder. Good luck as we see it all unfold in two weeks.

Harder to win, place or show DI or DII?, but which is easier to get into the field.

DII guys can tell their grandchildren that they were four time state qualifier and not be a very competiive wrestler and a DI guy doesnt have the luxuary of this easy way in even if he is head and shoulders better than a DII qualifier. Forget the champions and the contenders, but what about the guys just trying to get into the Show.

Well, it's much easier to make it to D2 states. I think the only qualification is that you have a pulse. However, when you get to that finals match, it's no cake walk. I think that Nick could beat Scott or Manley, but they just haven't crossed paths. I know it will be a good match, either way. If the cb56 scenario is right, that makes in 9-5 in favor of D2.

I don't think anyone in DII would brag about being a state qualifier.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
